Delta State Government has directed contractors handling road projects in the state to increase their workforce in order to meet completion deadlines of projects across the state.
The State Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye, gave the directive while inspecting Sector C2 from Ogwashi-Uku to Asaba of the Ughelli/Asaba Road Dualization project with a total length of 21.267 kilometres.
He frowned at the low workforce of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Nig. Ltd, CCECC, handling the project in order to align with the speed drive of the state government to complete it in 18 months.
Chief Augoye disclosed that the Sector C1 of the Ughelli/Asaba Road Dualization, which details from Ogwashi-Uku to Ossissa has been approved adding that the move depicts the state government’s commitment to completion of the project.
The Area Manager, CCECC, Mr Wang Wen Long, assured the government of the project completion within the stipulated 18 months period.
