As the plot thickens towards the 2023 gubernatorial elections in Delta state, a group has reiterated its support for Dr. Rufus Eseoghene Ebegba, Director General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA) to succeed Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, as the next governor of the multi-ethnic state.
Speaking at a well attended meeting recently, the group known as Grassroots Mobilizers for Ebegba 2023 (GME23), through its spokesman Joseph Uhagwa stated: “We are convinced of Dr Rufus Ebegba’s sincerity to work for the good of all Deltans, irrespective of tribe, ethnic background or cultural differences.
“He has always maintained a cordial relationship with the grassroots, and we believe he is capable of leading the mission to rescue Delta State, come 2023”.
Furthermore, Mr Uhagwa reiterated the groups decision to go all out in the coming months, leaving nothing to chance, to canvass support for Dr Ebegba within and outside the APC and Delta State.
“Having identified his love for God and humanity, especially the masses, we are poised to go with him all the way to ensure the birth of good governance in Delta State.
“Therefore, we enjoin Deltans across the world, party faithful and supporters to advocate, support and work towards the emergence of Dr Rufus Ebegba as the next Governor of Delta State”.
Dr Ebegba is a 57-year-old environmental scientist and biosafety expert. He is the DG NBMA, President of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Nyanyan/Karu Unit of Abuja, FCT and a major contender for the Delta State Governorship ticket of the APC.
