Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delta North Campaign train Tuesday continued its Ward rounds covering five communities in Oshimili North Local Government where party leaders sensitized the people about why they must vote for Atiku/Okowa Presidential and Vice-Presidential ticket, the Sheriff/Onyeme ticket for Governorship and Deputy Governorship, for Prince Ned Nwoko Senatorial ticket, for Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu House Representatives ticket and Barr. Frank Esenwa for House of Assembly ticket of the party in the 2023 elections.
At Ward 10, Ukala, Co-ordinator of Oshimili North Local Government campaign of PDP, who is also the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ogbueshi Patrick Ukah while urging the people to vote for the PDP candidates because they know and understand the pathway to rescue and restore the decadence into which the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has plunged the nation, said it is important that “we follow those who know the routes and the course of action to take to turn things around for the citizens.
Ukah who spoke in vernacular said: “Let’s vote in a President with experience and who enjoys a healthy body, not one who will make health institutions his place of permanent abode. Atiku is the person we must vote for as President. Among other things, Atiku is healthy. He does not carry urine bags everywhere he goes. Let us vote for PDP candidates and follow the pathway that we know is tested and that can be vouched for. All the bad roads in Nigeria are Federal roads, and that is why APC must leave the Federal Government for PDP.”
Ukah told the people not to trust all those who were chieftains of PDP but who now go about telling all manner of lies against the party. “Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso go about telling lies against PDP, the party they were full-fledged members of some months ago,” he said. Pointing out further that there were also those we sent to the Senate to represent us but have absconded. “Shall we send this person again?” “No!” was the resounding response.
Urging the people to vote massively for Sheriff Oborevwori as Governor of Delta State, the SSG reminded the people about why Ovie Omo-Agege of APC stands rejected. Ukah said: “Ovie Omo-Agege, as Deputy Senate President should come and tell the people of Anioma Nation what has come to the Senatorial District from his effort. He should tell Anioma people the critical appointments he has attracted to them. This is why we must vote for PDP all-the-way because God has blessed the candidates of the PDP. Sheriff does not go to London for holiday; he is a man with street credibility. This is why we must all vote for the Fabulous Fantastic fives of PDP all-the-way.”
On his part, Delta North PDP Chairman, Elder Moses Iduh, while reminding the people that ezi oyi ka ajo nwanne, which translates as a precious friend is better than a bad relation, said the Governorship candidate of the party, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is Ezi oyi to the Anioma people.
He said: “Tell everybody that it is in PDP only that there’s hope for the people of this country. Tell those who are not here that there’s no pathway to rescue the nation where they are going.”
Also at Ward 9, Okpanam, Iduh called on the PDP faithful to see the many benefits that Okpanam has enjoyed in terms of dividends of democracy under the administration of the PDP, pointing out that it will amount to a great sin for anyone in Okpanam not to vote for PDP 100 percent in the 2023 elections.
He said: “What Governor Okowa has done for Okpanam has already campaigned for the PDP. It will therefore be sad if PDP does not get in return 100 percent votes from Okpanam. You must not disappoint, come 2023, we must vote Atiku/Okowa ticket for Presidency, Sheriff/Onyeme for Governorship, vote Ned Nwoko for Senate, Ndudi Elumelu for House of Representatives, and Frank Esenwa for House of Assembly.
Many APC and SDP supporters and members dumped their parties and were received into PDP by the campaign train. At Ebu Ward 2, those who declared for the PDP called APC Angry Peoples Congress, with a promise to join hands with the PDP to bury APC.
At Akwukwu-Igbo Ward 1, the Hausa community leader while declaring support for PDP and assuring five-over-five votes for all PDP candidates and in excitement he shouted, saying “APC don die o. Atiku/Okowa will go to Abuja.”
At Illah Ward 3 Market Square, those who dumped APC surrendered their Brooms, the APC symbol, and got them burnt.
The highlight of the Ward campaign was the declaration by each Ward Chairman, that their Wards are homes for PDP and that their members have no other party but PDP which they have always supported and voted for since 1999.
