The inaugural interdenominational MORE Pray and Praise Fellowship, in partnering for the full implementation of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda through work and pray will hold on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Grand Hotel, Asaba at 8a.m.-10 a.m.

Pointing out that in God we trust in Delta State, Deacon Okezi Odugala, coordinator of the Forum of Delta State NGOs, organisers of the programme in a statement called on Deltans and residents to partner with the administration of Governor Oborevwori towards full implementation of the MORE Agenda by engaging positive works and prayers as responsible citizens.

Noting that good governance can only be birthed through responsive servant leaders and followers as everyone has a role to play, Deacon Odugala said: “We as citizens must obey the laws of our state and country as well as promote peace and security to enable government to deliver their social contract with citizens for the common good.

“Delta State is a peculiar state with many contending forces, underscoring the need to pray and praise God for the sustainable development of the state cannot be over emphasised.

“We therefore call on all citizens to remember our leaders in prayers as enjoined us in 1Timothy 2:1-2, which states: ‘Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for Kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all goodness and reverence,” Odugala said.

He said that as civil society group, “We have advocated and will continue to advocate for good governance, transparency and accountability. But we are divinely led to organise a monthly interdenominational MORE Pray and Praise Fellowship across Delta State, believing that our state is divinely lifted.”

Explaining further, Deacon Odugala said: “We believe that this present administration is on a divine assignment and that we must be partners in progress as we call on all to work and pray for Delta State as it is no more business as usual.
“We join the Governor to say ‘No more contractors and collaborators that deliver shoddy projects. We pray and advise a change of heart for a good name is better than riches.

Odugala continued: “As part of partnership for sustainable development, we are organising the inaugural interdenominational MORE Pray and Praise Fellowship on Saturday, 7th of December, 2024 at Grand Hotel, Asaba from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. interceding for wisdom and protection for leadership, peace and security, good Governance and sustainable development for Delta State and our country.”
