An Aspirant in the November governorship election in Anambra State, Sen. Andy Uba has promised to run an all-inclusive government for the people of the state.
Uba, the senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly said that experience had thought him that government is better run as a government of the people and for the people.
In a statement signed by Mr Joseph Itazi, Media Aide to the Senate, Uba said that in his government there will be equity, justice and true principles of democracy.
Andy Uba has flagged off his campaign for the Primary Election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and he had expressed confidence to emerge the party’s candidate.
“I will run an all inclusive government laced with equity and justice enshrined in the fundamental principles of true democracy” he said in the statement.
The governor aspirant said that apart from equal representation, quality leadership, and economic resuscitation, his government if elected would accommodate people living with disabilities.
“With my experience in government, I have come to understand fully that democracy is a government of the people, for the people and by the people.
“Therefore, I make bold to say that anything short of that is at best quasi – democracy and that too, is unacceptable.
“An ideal democracy is that which is people-oriented and people- driven; a system that makes room equitably for all of its intrinsic parts regardless of status and that is what Anambra state is going to enjoy” he said.
According to the statement, Uba was highly welcome and accepted in most of the communities which he has so far visited as part of his primary campaign tour.
Speaking to journalists , one of the community stakeholders Chief Paul Ejidike (Ezego na Ozubulu) described the Senator as an apt round peg in the round hole.
“Senator Andy Uba is a man that has over the years proven his worth in the National Assembly as a legislative heavy-weight and at grassroots level as a visionary, innovative and progressive leader; a man with foresight who knows not just what to do, but when and how to do what”.
Recently Senator Uba promised that he would defeat the current governor Willi Obiano in the November polls stressing that he would have the backing of the Anambra people and the candidate of the APC.(NAN)
