Waste disposal: DSCTDA embarks on monitoring exercise to ensure compliance with environmental laws

Worried by the indiscriminate manner some Delta residents flout environmental laws, the Delta State Capital territory Development Agency, (DSCTDA) Ministry of Environment, Environmental task force and Waste Managment Board carried out the monitoring and supervision of January 2025 Environmental sanitation day Exercise to check the ugly trend.

The Director General of DSCTDA, Chief Patrick Ukah, through the Environmental task force of the Agency were at Nnebisi Road, Inter bual round, Koka axis, Federal College Road, Okpanam and Ibusa to monitor the level of compliance with the environmental laws.


Environmental officers were seen on site cautioning the residents on how to dispose off their refuse properly.

Abatement notices were served to defaulting individual, facility owners, landlords, tenants and Occupants.

The Head of Environment of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Mr Isaac Nwosu who led the team of environmental officer of the DSCTDA to ensure the success of the exercise, said it would be a continuous one and advise citizens to ensure that their environment is clean to avoid sanctions in line with the Environmental laws of the state.
