Veteran journalist and publisher of Ovation Magazine Chief Dele Momodu has resigned from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a member of the.
The notice of his resignation is contained in a letter to the PDP Ward 4 chairman, Ihievbe, Owen East Local Government Area of Edo state.
The notice of his resignation reads:
JULY 17, 2025
The Chairman,
PDP Ward 4,
Ihievbe,
Owan East Local Government Area,
Edo State.
Dear Sir,
RESIGNATION AS A MEMBER OF PDP
I wish to inform you of my decision to resign from our political party, PDP, with immediate effect. My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight. It is therefore honorable to abandon the carcass of the party to them while majority of us earnestly sign up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
I will forever treasure the kind support you gave me at all times.
Thank you Sir.
Yours sincerely,
CHIEF DELE MOMODU
Momodu’s resignation from the PDP is almost the same time that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar also quit the party in a notice of resignation also addressed to the ward chairman in Adamawa State.
While Atiku is believed to seek to consolidate his association with the coalition that has birthed the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Momodu an associate of Atiku is also headed for the party.
