Tantita Security deepens CSR impact, builds classroom block to support inmate rehabilitation

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has restated its unwavering commitment to human development, community transformation, and societal peace — with education at the centre of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy.

The company’s Managing Director, Chief Keston Pondi, made this known on Tuesday during the commissioning of an eight-classroom block built by Tantita Security at the Medium Security Correctional Centre, Okere Road, Warri. The project, delivered in partnership with the Delta State Government, is aimed at improving inmate education and rehabilitation opportunities.

Chief Pondi noted that Tantita Security sees education as a powerful tool for reducing crime, lowering recidivism, and promoting peaceful reintegration into society. “We believe that empowering individuals — even those behind bars — with knowledge and skills is a critical investment in community safety and social stability,” he said.

Representing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the event, the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, commended Tantita Security for its visionary CSR initiative. He described the classroom project as a model example of how private sector participation can support government’s reform efforts and bridge the gap between incarceration and productive reintegration.

“By providing a conducive learning environment, we are offering inmates a second chance — one that enables them to contribute positively to society upon their release,” Tonukari stated.

The new facility will host both academic and vocational training programmes for inmates, in line with Governor Oborevwori’s broader policy of empowering citizens through education.

The inauguration further cements Tantita Security’s role not just as a strategic partner in national security and pipeline protection, but also as a socially responsible organisation committed to rebuilding lives and fostering sustainable peace in the Niger Delta.
