Ugbolu–Okpanam Road: Osuoza vows quality delivery, says Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda is walking the talk

The Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, has declared that the construction of the 12-kilometre Ugbolu–Okpanam Road will not only meet world-class standards but will also stand as proof that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration delivers on its promises.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony performed by the Governor on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Ugbolu axis of the project, Osuoza said the new road is a vital link between Ugbolu and Okpanam and a key milestone in the strategic infrastructure rollout under the Governor’s MORE Agenda.

“This is not just another road,” he emphasized. “It is a bold statement of commitment to open up our communities, ease movement, and boost economic activities for the people of Delta State.”

According to the Commissioner, the road stretches from the Asaba–Ugbolu–Illah Road near the popular Ugbolu Market and terminates at Uche Nwankwo Street, Okpanam. It features an 8-metre-wide pavement with 1.5-metre shoulders on both sides, covering the main alignment and adjoining roads.

The project scope includes earthworks, concrete drains, culverts, stormwater channels, crushed stone base, and dual asphalt surfacing—all designed to ensure durability and resilience against flooding and erosion.

Dr. Osuoza praised Levant Construction Limited as a proven engineering firm capable of delivering quality infrastructure, and called on residents of Ugbolu and Okpanam to cooperate fully with contractors to ensure smooth execution.

The Commissioner commended Governor Oborevwori for his foresight, describing him as a compassionate and people-centered leader who listens and acts. “For years, this corridor was a nightmare, ravaged by gully erosion and neglect. Today, it’s being rewritten into a story of renewal and hope,” he said.

Osuoza reaffirmed his personal commitment to strict supervision and quality assurance, promising that the project will be completed on time and to specification.

“This administration is not about talk; it is about results,” he asserted. “The Ugbolu–Okpanam Road is proof that the MORE Agenda is not a slogan, it is a living, working plan for the people of Delta.”
