The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has named respected academic and financial governance expert, Dr. Ochuko Benedict Emudainohwo, as Guest Speaker for its 6th Annual Lecture scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, at David’s Event Centre, Asaba, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

In a statement jointly signed by the Planning Committee Chairman, Mr. Abel Johngold, and Secretary, Josephine Omodior, Dr. Emudainohwo was hailed as an accomplished scholar and professional accountant whose career reflects “academic excellence, research distinction, and service to the professional and public sector community.”

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and Associate Professor of Accounting at Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, Dr. Emudainohwo brings decades of experience spanning academia, professional practice, and institutional leadership. He previously served as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences at DOU during the 2023/2024 academic session, spearheading reforms in curriculum development, research capacity, and academic governance.

With a PhD in Accounting from Glasgow, United Kingdom, alongside multiple advanced finance degrees from the University of Lagos, he has built a strong reputation in taxation, financial governance, foreign direct investment, and public sector accountability. His scholarly works, featured in respected peer-reviewed journals, have shaped contemporary debates on fiscal policy and governance reforms in emerging economies.

A passionate educator, Dr. Emudainohwo coordinates the Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) at DOU and teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has supervised numerous research dissertations and contributes actively to university development through committee leadership and professional engagements.

This year’s lecture will explore the theme:

“Nigeria’s New Tax Law: Implications and Opportunities for Businesses and Society.”

According to the organisers, Dr. Emudainohwo is expected to deliver “a scholarly, practical and policy-driven perspective” on the evolving tax landscape and its broader socio-economic significance.

The event will also feature a panel of eminent discussants drawn from government, academia, business and civil society. Senior policymakers, industry leaders, media professionals, and thought-leaders across sectors are expected to attend.

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, will grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour, alongside other top government officials and dignitaries nationwide.

The DOPF Annual Lecture has, over the years, evolved into a major intellectual and policy engagement platform in the South-South, providing a forum for critical national discourse and professional exchange. The 2025 edition promises to continue that tradition, bringing focus to tax reforms and their impact on Nigeria’s economic future.
