The Niger Delta Development Advocates (NDDA) has donated relief materials some affected flood victims when the group visited the internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in Benue State.
The group in line with one of their mission statement of poverty alleviation and promoting inclusiveness, gave materials which includes food items and toiletries to the camp in order to quashing the devastating effects of the flood.
NDDA’s Technical Project Manager, Field Operations, Amonia Rita Stewart who represented the group handed over the relief materials to the camp commandant Mr. Amande Tsegha who thanked them for their support.
The commandant while commending the NDDA for the gesture assured them that the items would be judiciously distributed amongst the displaced persons in the camp.
He equally told the team of NDDA, that many of the displaced persons have returned to their homes, unlike the first week of the incident.
In a statement after the visit, Mr Jesse Ojobor, Director Strategic Planning, Research and Communication, Niger Delta Development Advocates (NDDA) stated that the group will continue to strive to reach out to needy Nigerians irrespective of where they come from.
He said: “The NDDA will continue in the future to strive in poverty alleviation, building capacities in comprehensive manners and uniting people through programs and events targeted at promoting not only our region but any other region that may require our assistance.”
