Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, has come alive this weekend as more than 250 golfers from Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, and across Europe converge for the VBA@87 Golf Tournament in honour of Obong Victor Attah, the visionary founder of the iconic Ibom Hotels & Golf Resort.
The landmark tournament is underway on the breathtaking 18–hole championship course at the resort, a world-class facility conceived and built under Obong Attah’s leadership. The elder statesman is expected to officially tee off the games upon his arrival.
Captain of the Ibom Golf & Country Club, Mr. Isuamfon Archibong, is on ground coordinating activities and hosting the influx of domestic and international guests.
Powered by Ibom Air and other key sponsors, the tournament is being contested on the pristine fairways of the Ibom Golf Course, home to the Ibom Golf & Country Club, which boasts a global membership of over 1,000 golfers.
