Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the South-South Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative.

In a congratulatory message issued on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Elumelu described the appointment as “well-deserved and timely,” noting that it underscores Okowa’s proven leadership capacity, national relevance, and long-standing commitment to Nigeria’s development.

He said Senator Okowa’s distinguished record as a consensus builder, strategic leader, and advocate of people-focused governance perfectly positions him to add significant value to the Renewed Hope Initiative spearheaded by the President and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Elumelu emphasized that Okowa’s new role would further strengthen sustainable development efforts and deepen socio-economic inclusion across the South-South region and the country at large. He commended the former governor for his exceptional contributions to national progress, democratic consolidation, and political stability.

According to him, the appointment is not only a recognition of Okowa’s service at the national level but also a source of pride for Delta State. “On behalf of the Elumelu family and the good people of Delta State, I warmly congratulate our leader, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on this elevation to a national assignment that aligns perfectly with his passion for public service and human development,” he stated.
