Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed profound grief over the death of former Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, who represented Delta North. Governor Oborevwori described his passing as a significant loss to Delta State, the Anioma nation, and Nigeria.
In a condolence message delivered by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor honored Senator Nwaoboshi as a proud son of Delta and a fearless champion for the Anioma people. He noted that the late senator’s dedication to nation-building has left a permanent mark.
Governor Oborevwori reflected on Senator Nwaoboshi’s distinguished tenure in the National Assembly, where he led the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs. His passionate advocacy for the development of the Niger Delta and Delta State, the Governor said, distinguished him as a resolute and devoted leader.
The Governor highlighted that Senator Nwaoboshi’s notable political career was built on a foundation of principled service and a deep commitment to democratic values. This commitment was also evident in his impactful service as a two-time State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta.
Governor Oborevwori stated that the late senator dedicated his life to serving his community, his party, and the nation, leaving a legacy defined by courage, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to public service.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I mourn the loss of my dear friend, Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi,” Governor Oborevwori said.
“I extend my deepest sympathies to his immediate family, the Anioma nation, members of our great party, and all who were touched by his life. May Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest and provide his family, friends, and associates the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
