Oborevwori inaugurates Model Technical College in Delta

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Monday, February 3, 2026 commissioned the newly completed Model Technical College in Omadino, Warri South Local Government Area.

Governor Oborevwori stated that the institution is a flagship investment in technical education, crucial for tackling youth unemployment by creating skilled professionals and entrepreneurs, not job seekers.

He emphasized that his administration delivered the project, initiated by his predecessor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, within two years without borrowing or imposing new burdens on the state. Contractors were paid promptly, ensuring timely delivery, he noted.

The Governor confirmed academic activities had already begun at the college prior to its formal commissioning, demonstrating the facility’s readiness.

The Commissioner for Technical Education, Mr. Smart Ufoh, described the college as a “bold statement of purpose.” Facilities include 12 classrooms, 9 workshops, hostels, staff quarters, a clinic, and recreational amenities.

Dignitaries present included the Delta State Deputy Governor, Speakers of the Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, and Anambra State Houses of Assembly, and the Olu of Warri.
