President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining economic reforms, saying the policies are already delivering tangible benefits and will be deepened to drive inclusion, empowerment and prosperity for Nigerians.
Speaking on Monday during a one-day official visit to Adama State, the President said the reforms had repositioned the economy, leading to improved revenues and higher allocations to states, which were now translating into visible gains in education, health and infrastructure.
Tinubu commended Governor Ahmadu Unaru Fintiri for what he described as effective utilisation of federal allocations, citing major investments in roads, schools and justice infrastructure across the state.
“That is the consequence of us working together. We will achieve more macroeconomic successes. We are investing heavily in agriculture and human capital development. We must be able to feed ourselves and feed the country,” the President said, urging governors to continue carrying citizens along.
He praised the solidarity between the federal and state governments, noting that the right economic policies had empowered sub-national governments to execute projects that directly impact livelihoods.
Highlighting specific projects in Adamawa, Tinubu applauded the construction of an eight-lane road with an underpass to ease mobility and stimulate commerce, as well as a modern high court complex to strengthen the administration of justice. He urged states to commit more resources to poverty reduction, particularly through improved education for children.

The President also thanked traditional rulers and religious leaders for promoting peace and unity in the state, describing their role as critical at a time of economic adjustment and political pressures.
Tinubu further praised the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Reported badu, describing him as “honest, bold, courageous and committed,” and expressing confidence that Nigeria would defeat banditry and terrorism under his leadership.
In his remarks, Governor Fintiri thanked the President for visiting Adamawa and commissioning key projects, including a model school built at the cost of N24.8 billion, major road expansions with bridges and underpasses costing N15.6 billion, a remodelled state High Court Complex costing N5.5 billion, and a new Government House office complex valued at N6.3 billion.
Fintiri commended Tinubu’s economic reforms and assured him of the support of the Adamawa government and people.
The event was attended by the governors of Taraba, Borno, Plateau, Gombe and Yobe states, alongside ministers and other senior government officials.
The visit took place in Yola on February 16, 2026.
