The Mobile Court of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has convicted sixteen environmental offenders for violating sanitation and environmental regulations within the state capital territory.

The court session, held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, also discharged four defendants after reviewing their cases, while bench warrants were issued for 12 offenders who failed to appear in court to answer charges brought against them.

One of the cases prosecuted involved Chuzz4 Apartment and Suites, accused of discharging wastewater into a public drainage channel, an act authorities described as a violation of environmental laws and a serious threat to public health and sanitation.

The offenders were prosecuted by the Head of Environment of DSCTDA, Mr. Isaac Nwosu, who led the enforcement action against individuals and establishments found to be breaching environmental regulations within the capital territory.

Speaking on the development, the Director General of DSCTDA, Mr. Patrick Ukah, reaffirmed the agency’s resolve to strictly enforce environmental laws and sustain efforts to keep the capital territory clean and healthy.

Ukah warned that individuals and organizations involved in environmental violations, including the improper disposal of wastewater and solid waste, would continue to face prosecution.

He also urged residents, business owners, and property managers to comply with environmental regulations, stressing that the agency would intensify its enforcement drive to ensure that the capital territory remains orderly, sanitary, and environmentally sustainable.
