President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support and goodwill as he marked his 74th birthday, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to ongoing reforms aimed at building a stronger nation.
In a special message released by the State House on Sunday, the President thanked citizens across the country for their prayers, solidarity, and patriotic support since the inception of his administration.
Tinubu also acknowledged individuals and groups who placed congratulatory messages in newspapers and paid for broadcast airtime to celebrate him, describing their gestures as deeply appreciated.
The President extended special appreciation to the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for her “kind and loving words,” as well as to Vice President Kashim Shettima for his remarks in honour of the occasion.
He noted that, in keeping with his tradition and in consideration of the current national mood, he chose to mark this year’s birthday in a low-key manner.
Reflecting on the journey so far, Tinubu acknowledged the challenges that have accompanied the administration’s reform agenda but expressed optimism that the sacrifices made were beginning to yield results.
“I am glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain, as we can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, despite the temporary setback caused by the ongoing Middle East crisis,” he said.
The President emphasized that the progress recorded by his government was a collective achievement, crediting Nigerians for their resilience and cooperation.
“As we march towards the third anniversary of our administration, it is my deepest conviction that we shall succeed in building a brighter future for our citizens and future generations,” he stated.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s determination to confront the nation’s challenges, expressing confidence that with continued public support, Nigeria would overcome its current difficulties.
He called on Nigerians to remain united and committed to nation-building, urging collective efforts toward creating a more prosperous and resilient country.
“Let us continue to work together to build a stronger, prosperous and more resilient nation that will make Nigeria the pride of Africa,” the President added.
