President Bola Tinubu has issued a blistering condemnation of coordinated attacks in Plateau and Kaduna states, describing the gunmen responsible as “heartless cowards” and vowing that security agencies will hunt them down.
In a forceful statement released Monday, the President reacted to twin assaults that left residents of Angwan Rukuba district in Jos, Plateau State, dead, while in Kahir village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, attackers killed wedding guests and abducted several others.
Describing the violence as an affront to everything Nigeria represents, Tinubu directed security agencies to intensify efforts to pursue the perpetrators and warned against what he called misinformation that could inflame tensions.
“Anyone who will sneak under the cover of the night and kill defenceless citizens as done in Jos and Kahir village, is a heartless coward,” the President said. “By attacking soft targets in Jos, their objective is not only to cause harm but also trigger a spiral of reprisal attacks and further bloodletting.”
The President cautioned sections of the media against insinuating that the attacks were religiously motivated, urging a focus on facts that would not further endanger lives.
He stressed the need for communities to comply with evacuation, relocation, and related advice from security agencies, emphasising that public cooperation is vital to maintaining peace and protecting lives and property.
Tinubu hailed the safe return of two of the Kaduna victims and issued a direct order: “All the remaining abductees from Kahir village must be rescued immediately.”
He commended Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for their efforts in containment and rescue operations, assuring them of federal support.
The President also revealed that the government is currently acquiring more sophisticated equipment to enable security agencies to track and neutralise criminals in real time.
He commiserated with the families of those killed and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.

How irresponsible can a govt be?

This FG is only interested in grabbing power, not to improve the wellbeing of Nigerians.
