NAPOC Celebrates Adeniyi’s appointment as Baze University Vice Chancellor

The National Association of Political Correspondents (NAPOC) has congratulated one of its distinguished members, Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, on his appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja.

The association described the appointment as a historic milestone not only for Professor Adeniyi but also for the Nigerian media community and members of NAPOC nationwide.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the NAPOC Coordinating Committee, Deba Uwadiae, the association said the announcement of Adeniyi’s elevation was received with “immense pride and joy” across the body.

According to Uwadiae, the appointment is a deserving recognition of Professor Adeniyi’s outstanding career as a scholar of Communication and Media Epistemology, seasoned academic administrator and accomplished media professional.

“Professor Adeniyi’s journey from political correspondence and media practice to the pinnacle of academic leadership is a source of inspiration to all members of NAPOC and journalists across Nigeria,” the statement said.

NAPOC noted that the appointment further demonstrated the quality of professionals produced within the journalism and media profession, stressing that Adeniyi’s emergence as Vice Chancellor reaffirmed the role of journalism as a strong foundation for leadership and national development.

The association also praised Professor Adeniyi’s previous service as Registrar of Baze University, where he was said to have displayed exceptional administrative competence, institutional vision and commitment to academic excellence.

NAPOC further stated that Adeniyi’s appointment followed a rigorous and competitive selection process approved by the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baze University, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed.

The body expressed confidence that under his leadership, the university would witness greater growth in academic excellence, innovation, research and community engagement.

Uwadiae added that NAPOC was fully prepared to support and collaborate with Professor Adeniyi in his new assignment.

“We are confident that his tenure as Vice Chancellor will bring transformative progress to Baze University, and we pledge our solidarity and goodwill as he embarks on this noble mandate,” he stated.
