A former aspirant for the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Aniocha South Constituency, Comrade Chidi Anthony Ikediashi (JP), has declared his support for the re-election bid of Hon. Chief Dr. Isaac Anwuzia (JP), calling on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his supporters to close ranks ahead of the party primaries.
Ikediashi, who had earlier shown interest in contesting for the Aniocha South seat, said he deliberately chose not to purchase the nomination form for the race, insisting that he remained committed to the decision of the party leadership to support Anwuzia’s second-term ambition.
Speaking on his decision, Ikediashi stressed that politics should be driven by wisdom, loyalty and strategic thinking rather than emotions.
“Politics is not a game where emotions should outweigh intelligence. It requires wisdom, loyalty and a clear understanding of the bigger picture. At times, genuine loyalty may come with personal inconvenience, but that is part of the responsibility that comes with political commitment and leadership,” he stated.
The former aspirant appealed to his supporters to work closely with Anwuzia’s political structure as the APC primaries draw near, emphasizing the need for unity within the party.
“I sincerely appeal to all my supporters to work together with Hon. Anwuzia’s team as the primaries approach. We are one big political family, and together we can achieve more through unity, understanding and collective purpose,” he said.
Ikediashi further maintained that effective leadership requires maturity, strategic thinking and unity of purpose, noting that the collective interest of the people must remain paramount.
He urged APC faithful in Aniocha South to align with what he described as the “Renew the Mandate, Refine the Mission” agenda, adding that peace, progress and party cohesion should take precedence over personal ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections.
