If we are being truthful, most of our Local Government Councils have failed to translate the resources available to them into visible development for the people.
Ughelli North is one of the biggest commercial hubs in Delta Central with significant economic activities. Yet, where are the transformational projects that should match its revenue potential?
Udu has one of the highest populations in the region and is strategically positioned for real estate growth because thousands live there and work in Warri and Effurun. Yet basic infrastructure remains inadequate.
Uvwie hosts major companies, institutions, and businesses. But enter many communities within Uvwie and you will ask yourself: where is the development?
Ughelli South should be an economic powerhouse. With its oil and gas resources, waterways, and access to coastal opportunities, it could be an industrial hub. Yet many communities remain difficult to access in 2026, and some basic financial services are still absent.
Okpe has vast undeveloped land that could drive industrialization, agriculture, and real estate if strategic road networks were opened up.
Ethiope East possesses enormous agricultural potential, valuable land resources, and the famous Ethiope River, which could generate significant tourism revenue.
Ethiope West and Sapele should be leading centres for industry, agriculture, exports, and investment. Sapele was once a symbol of economic promise. Today, many residents are still waiting to see that promise fully restored.
The big question is simple:
Considering the allocations and revenues received by our Local Governments over the years, can we honestly say the people have received value for money?
Where is the money going?
This is not about APC, PDP, Labour Party, or any political group.
This is about accountability.
This is about development.
This is about the future of Delta Central.
Let’s discuss with facts, figures, and solutions.
No insults. No tribal sentiments. No party propaganda.
Just the truth.
