The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has celebrated the elevation of Okies Victor Okpomo to the prestigious traditional positions of Chief Okakuro and Ufuoma of Oghara Kingdom, describing the conferment as a well-deserved honour and a testament to his contributions to his community.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Emmanuel Enebeli, MNIPR, FCISM, DOPF said the recognition reflected the confidence reposed in Chief Okpomo by the traditional institution and the people of Oghara Kingdom.
The Forum described the occasion as not only a personal milestone for Chief Okpomo and his family but also a significant moment for Oghara Kingdom, given the responsibilities and expectations attached to traditional leadership.
According to DOPF, Chief Okpomo’s experience, wisdom and demonstrated commitment to community development place him in a strong position to make even greater contributions to the peace, unity and progress of the kingdom.
“DOPF considers this honour a significant recognition of Chief Okpomo’s contributions to his community and the confidence reposed in him by the traditional institution and people of Oghara Kingdom,” the Forum stated.
The publishers’ body further stressed that traditional institutions remain critical pillars of community identity, noting their enduring role in preserving cultural heritage, promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening unity among the people.
It therefore urged the newly honoured Chief to embrace his new responsibilities with humility, wisdom and dedication, while continuing to uphold the values and traditions of Oghara Kingdom.
DOPF also joined the people of Oghara Kingdom, as well as Chief Okpomo’s family, friends and associates, in celebrating what it described as a proud and memorable milestone.
The Forum wished the new Chief Okakuro and Ufuoma of Oghara Kingdom wisdom, strength, good health and a fruitful tenure, expressing confidence that his elevation would provide another platform for him to contribute meaningfully to the development and wellbeing of the kingdom.
