President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted partner, patriot and dedicated public servant whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for Nigeria.

In a State House statement issued to mark Shettima’s birthday on September 2, President Tinubu said he joined the Vice President’s wife, Nana, children, family members and political associates in celebrating the milestone.

Tinubu described Shettima as more than a trusted ally and valued colleague, saying the Vice President had demonstrated unwavering commitment to the progress and unity of Nigeria.

The President said the occasion also provided an opportunity to celebrate Shettima’s distinguished banking career and his exemplary record of public service, particularly as Governor of Borno State and now Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to Tinubu, Shettima has demonstrated courage, diligence, compassion and a strong commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians throughout his years in public service.

He particularly commended the Vice President for his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, APC, his support for the administration and his unwavering dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Tinubu also praised Shettima’s leadership as Chairman of the National Economic Council, NEC, saying he had provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policies and promoting collaboration between the Federal Government and the sub-national governments.

The President further credited the Vice President’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation with helping to strengthen good governance in the country.

“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” Tinubu said.

The President thanked Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership, expressing confidence that their continued collaboration would help deliver the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda to Nigerians.

“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” Tinubu stated.

On behalf of the Federal Government, the President prayed Almighty Allah to continue to guide, protect and strengthen the Vice President.

He also prayed for wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria for Shettima as he marks his 60th birthday.
