ASABA — Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Delta North, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, has pledged to make security, safer farming and trading communities, and improved healthcare delivery key priorities of his representation if elected in the 2027 senatorial election.

Ochei’s position was contained in a Sunday goodwill message issued by the NDC Delta North Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Udoka Aaron Ebenuwa, on behalf of the senatorial leadership of the party.

The statement, which felicitated with the people of Delta North across the nine Local Government Areas, conveyed Ochei’s greetings to elders, youths, women, farmers, traders, workers and families in the district.

According to Ebenuwa, Ochei’s vision is centred on what he described as people-centred representation, with particular attention to the security, welfare and economic prosperity of the people.

A major plank of the agenda, the statement said, would be the promotion of safer farming communities, against the backdrop of security concerns affecting access to farmlands in parts of Delta North.

Ochei also promised to advocate for a safer and more conducive environment for traders to conduct their businesses, linking security with the economic wellbeing of communities across the district.

“His commitment includes safer farming and trading communities, where farmers can access their farms without fear and traders can conduct their businesses in a secure and conducive environment,” the statement said.

The NDC candidate also pledged to advocate improved health facilities and better access to quality healthcare across Delta North.

The party said the proposed focus on healthcare was part of a broader vision that places the welfare of residents at the centre of legislative representation.

The statement urged the people of Delta North to remain peaceful, hopeful and united, stressing that the future of the district should be anchored on security, economic opportunity, functional healthcare and service to the people.

Ebenuwa said Ochei remained committed to representing the interests of the people across the nine local government areas, while conveying the candidate’s goodwill and Sunday greetings to residents.

“The future of Delta North must be built on security, economic opportunity, functional healthcare and genuine service to the people,” the statement declared.

Delta North comprises Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North, Oshimili South and Ukwuani Local Government Areas.
