NDC governorship candidate advocates job creation, improved infrastructure, better public services

The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State, Sir Chinyeaka Christian Ohaa, has called for a change in the state’s leadership approach, advocating people-centred governance focused on job creation, infrastructure development and improved public services.
Ohaa made the call on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the NDC town hall meeting in Enugu, where he also declared support for former Anambra State Governor and NDC presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, describing his vision of leadership as consistent with the need for accountability and national development.
The Enugu governorship hopeful said the state required purposeful leadership capable of improving the living conditions of residents through sustainable economic policies, better healthcare delivery, quality education and expanded opportunities for young people.
He maintained that governance should not be measured by political promises but by tangible results that directly improve the lives of citizens.
According to him, government resources must be managed prudently and deployed to address the pressing needs of the people, particularly in the areas of employment generation, infrastructure and social services.
Ohaa also underscored the importance of transparency and accountability in public administration, insisting that public confidence could only be strengthened when leaders placed the collective interests of citizens above personal and partisan considerations.
He said Enugu State had considerable potential for economic growth and development but needed practical policies and a leadership approach that prioritised the welfare of the people.
Reaffirming his commitment to what he described as a new direction for the state, Ohaa said his vision was to build an administration that would translate available opportunities and public resources into measurable improvements in the lives of residents.
His endorsement of Obi’s vision at the town hall meeting also underscored the alignment he sees between the NDC’s proposed direction for Enugu and the broader national development agenda being canvassed by the party’s presidential candidate.
