Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has applauded the people of Delta South Senatorial District for endorsing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for second term.

A statement of appreciation in Asaba, issued by the state Publicity Secretary of the Party, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza reads:

“The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Delta State hereby express our unconditional gratitude and deep appreciation to the wonderful people of Delta South; the Itsekiris, the Ijaws and the amazing people of Isoko nation, for the overwhelming outpouring of love and undiluted show of absolute trust and confidence manifested during the grand reception organized for the leader of Delta State PDP, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Governor of Delta State, Ekwueme of the universe and his Deputy, His Excellency, Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, in Oleh, today, June 9th, 2018.

“We have never nursed any doubt about the love and acceptance that the people of Delta South has for the PDP and especially for His Excellency Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and the massive turn out of the our brothers and sisters from the collective nations of Delta South to receive, celebrate and adopt Okowa again in Isokoland, for a second tenure come 2019, was a solid and unshakable statement of endorsement in recognition of the enduring legacy achievements in the areas of qualitative infrastructure, roads and bridges projects, jobs creation for the teeming youths through the YAGEP, STEP and PPSP initiatives, as well as the comprehensive business support programmes like the micro credit scheme which have touched and transformed the lives of many women in the riverine areas.

“The dedicated and structured renovation, rehabilitation and equipping of health centres, schools and other social welfare amenities have already been accomplished across the length and breadth of Delta South from Abigborodo to Patani and Burutu through to Isokoland.

“The Okowa administration has also achieved a major milestone, especially in the return of sustainable peace and the committed efforts towards ensuring that the peace building strategies are consolidated in the area by the Okowa administration through the brilliant SMART Agenda in the last three years.

“All these and many more pragmatic initiatives, geared towards touching the lives of the people positively, are all glaring testimonies to underline the fact that Governor Okowa is working and ensured and confirmed that his second term is already assured, as a result of these verifiable achievements which have placed our party solidly on ground and in pole position and made the PDP the party of choice for Deltans in 2019.

“The resounding declaration of Okowa Again in 2019 by the people of Delta South is the sweet icing on the re-election cake already baked by the Anioma Nation and blessed by the majestic prayers of the revered traditional rulers of the Urhobo Nation and we wish to once again express our deepest joy and happiness to the amiable people of Isokoland, the colourful Itsekiri ethnic nationality and the great Ijaw Nation, for coming out enmasse and without delay to adopt and endorse Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as their candidate for the Delta State governorship election in 2019.

“Your decision to join your fellow brothers and sisters in Anioma Nation and to uphold the brave, courageous, uplifting and historic pronouncement of our most respected Delta Central traditional monarchs, has completed the cycle of endorsements across the three geo-political zones in the State and put a final seal and stamp of credibility and authority on the collective desire of Deltans to Vote Okowa Again for his well deserved second term as Governor of Delta State.

“We want to place it on record that this your endorsement has made it even easier for us to commence our campaigns and indeed more exciting for us to reach every nook and cranny of the State and be welcomed with grand receptions everywhere we go, when we roll out our campaign train with the full confidence that Deltans are solidly behind our great leader Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the distinguished and capable team we will present to further consolidate on the prosperity for all Deltans objective of the PDP in 2019.
