The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the official timetable for its 2026 nationwide congresses and National Convention as part of efforts to renew the party’s leadership structures across all levels.
In a statement released by the party, the ADC said the exercise was in line with its constitutional obligation to periodically reorganize and strengthen its leadership framework from the grassroots to the national level.
According to the party, the congresses will commence at the polling unit and ward levels before progressing through the local government and state structures, culminating in the National Convention.
The party outlined the schedule of activities as follows: Polling Unit and Ward Congresses will hold on Tuesday, April 7, 2026; Local Government Area Congresses on Thursday, April 9, 2026; and State Congresses on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
The process will conclude with the ADC National Convention slated for Tuesday, April 14, 2026, where key national party officers are expected to emerge.
The party said the exercise is designed to deepen internal democracy and strengthen its organizational structure nationwide as it prepares for future political engagements.
The ADC urged party members across the country to actively participate in the congresses and ensure the process is conducted in line with the party’s constitution and democratic principles.
