Felix Anirah
The Priest in charge of St Patrick Catholic Church in Sapele, Rev Father Christopher Ekabo has described High Chief Felix Anirah, the President/Chief Executive Officer of Felix Anirah Foundation as one of the few politicians with a good heart.
Father Ekabo stated during a special thanksgiving service at the St Patrick Catholic Church in Sapele, Delta State, to mark Chief Anirah’s 63rd birthday celebration.
Ekabo while wishing Chieftain well said; “ when I was transferred here, he came to meet me quietly, requesting for students who the Foundation would give scholarship and since then the church has continue to benefit from his Foundation’s programmes.
“He has not only sponsored students from this church; but has continue to treat people with eye problem and other medical services through his Foundation” he said, before leading the congregation in prayer for the Chief Anirah.
As part of activity to mark the birthday, Felix Anirah Foundation in conjunction with St. Malachy’s College Old Boys Association Sapele, on Saturday organsied a free medical outreach at the school premises where resident were screen and treated for malaria, typhoid and High blood pressure.
The head of the medical team, Dr. Paul Egato stated that malaria remains African greatest health burden, and that any effort geared toward tackling it should be commended, noting that they attended to many paitent that came out.
The Vice President of St. Malachy’s College Old Boys Association, Engr. Frank Orhiaki commended Chief Felix Anirah for his support for the Old boys and his service to humanity, urging other Nigerians to emulate Anirah’s good works.
Some of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Jane Osagie, Mrs. Patricia Aboyen and Mrs Elizabeth Ekede, commended Felix Anirah Foundation and pray God to continue to bless Chief Anirah.
Speaking earlier, Chief Anirah said although few days ago, he had nurtured the thought of being in church, his health situation then made many to believe that it was impossible for him to be physically present in church for the thanksgiving.
Chief Anirah added his coming to Church on Sunday was enough reason to thank God, adding that the best way to be grateful for God’s blessing in his life is to continue to give back to the society through his Foundation
Anirah, who was visibly happy with his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Eunice Anirah, said “Few days ago, when the District Governor, Rotary Club International, District 9141, Rotn Ik Ogiemudia and his delegation visited me, they didn’t believe that I will make it to the church because of the state he saw me. But I told him that there is nothing impossible for God to do, now I am standing before you, this alone deserves thanksgiving.”
The high point of the thanksgiving was the presentation of award to Chief Anirah by Rev Father Ekabo on behalf of St Patrick Catholic Church; adding that the Pope will be bestowing of Chief Anirah a papa award and made a Night.
Chief Anirah also promised to take over one of the church project through his Foundation.
The thanksgiving was attended by the District Governor, Rotary Club International, District 9141, Rotn Ik Ogiemudia, Asst DG Rotn Francis Evieruvie, President Rotary Club of Sapele Metropolitan, Rotn Okafor Madu.
Others include the President of Oghara Rotary club, Rotn Johnson Akienabor, Rotn Rume Omekeh, captains of industries, businessmen, heads of government agencies, Kingdom Chiefs and Politicians from different political parties.
