Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State on Friday gathered at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Asaba, for a high-level meeting that reinforced party unity, accelerated e-registration, intensified grassroots mobilisation and set the tone ahead of forthcoming congresses.
Addressing leaders and members, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori said leadership must be rooted in the will of the people and guided by humility, empathy and service. He urged stakeholders to put collective interest above personal ambitions, shun division and avoid needless conflicts, stressing that unity remains the APC’s greatest asset.
The governor said such engagements offer an opportunity to review progress, strengthen party structures and prepare for critical political milestones, noting that effective mobilisation, registration and participation would ultimately determine electoral success.
Oborevwori emphasised the need for the party to deliver overwhelming votes for President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections, adding that electoral strength would shape the party’s influence and benefits at the federal level.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo, SAN, commended the progress recorded in the e-registration exercise and the growing diversity within the party. He urged members to remain focused as congresses approach, cautioning against rumours and delays, while advocating early engagement, dialogue and consensus-building at the grassroots to minimise tension.

Immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, thanked Governor Oborevwori for convening the meeting, describing his return to Government House after many years as a strong signal of inclusiveness. He pledged to work in unity with the governor and other stakeholders to strengthen the APC in the state.
Former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, applauded stakeholders for sustaining unity and engagement, urging intensified grassroots mobilisation to deepen e-registration by taking the exercise directly to homes and communities. He stressed inclusiveness and consensus in the conduct of congresses, praising Governor Oborevwori’s role in fostering harmony.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Felix Morka, lauded the governor’s leadership and the digitalisation of the party’s membership register, recommending a consensus approach for the forthcoming congresses.
In his welcome address, State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, disclosed that the party had recorded over 90 per cent realignment since April 2025, describing the meeting as evidence of renewed unity and growing momentum.
Providing updates, Delta North APC Chairman, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka, reported peace in the district but noted challenges with registration. Delta Central Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, said progress was ongoing, with Okpe Local Government leading statewide, while appealing for restraint pending official guidelines. Delta South Chairman, Prince Austin Oribioye, called for the swift resolution of technical issues to meet registration targets.
The State E-Registration Coordinator, Prince Fred Mordi, announced that Delta State had been selected to host the South-South training, reporting steady growth in registration figures despite minor challenges and expressing confidence that targets would be met before the deadline.
A minute of silence was observed in honour of late Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, who represented Delta North Senatorial District in the Senate.
