Atiku Care Foundation (ACF), on Saturday, in South West London inaugurated its United Kingdom chapter, with the official inauguration of it executive committee with a promised to use their skills to better Nigeria.
The group made up of professionals and well meaning Nigerians resident in the United Kingdom were selected based on their expertise, sound understanding of global politics, Youth and Women issues, and pledged to serve Nigeria and Atiku Care Foundation.
The Atiku Care Foundation, a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit support organisation registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja – Nigeria with strategic objective to popularize the visions, works and societal developmental objectives of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The Foundation, under the leadership of its chairman, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas is aimed at promoting egalitarian spirit, growth and progress of the less privileged and the global society at large.
“It is a forum that brings Nigerians, Africans and other foreign citizens both home and abroad together, in various spheres of endeavours: Professionals, Students, Business Groups, Farmers, Religious/Cultural Bodies, Artisans, and Entertainment Industries all working together; thereby making the association a global concept.
Other objective of the foundation is to create an enabling environment for healthy interactions among all Nigerians, Africans, and other foreign citizens both at home and abroad irrespective of gender, ethnicity and religion in order to develop ideas and solutions to unemployment, stranglehold of ignorance and economic hardship.
In his inaugural address, Mr Michael George-Ukhuegbe, Director-in-charge, Atiku Care foundation, UK stated that as the team leader of the foundation in the UK; he champions the cause of the organization on daily basis on social media networks.
He added, “Atiku Care Foundation, Diaspora, takes great pride in people, it provides them with opportunities with which they can learn and grow each day and have fun while doing so.
He added that the Foundation will facilitate frequent interactive seminars which will involve Nigerians and foreign allies in Spain, Norway, Austria, Germany, Sweden, the UK and other location at specified period of times, where Atiku is expected to be present in person to dialogue with stakeholders.
The Director stated further that, “the organisation also plans to partner with mainstream and online Media networks to create high level visibility to raise the momentum of the organisations’ dignified identity with potential followers in Diaspora”.
Mr Ukhuegbe, whilst administering the oath of office on the EXCO members, enjoined them to remain resolute, committed and dogged as it concerns the objectives of the Foundation and the political ambitions of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa.
The newly inaugurated Excos includes; Godwin Forson, Sarah Ibrahim, Hilda Avwenagha, Godwin Osagiede, Adefunmike Odelola, Emmanuel Popoh, Tina Shittu, Olumide Ogunyoye and they all pledged their support for His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
They also commended the laudable objectives of the Atiku Care Foundation under the leadership of its chairman, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas.
They added that as peace loving Nigerians, “the EXCO utterly condemned those who promote and use terror for political gains.”
They also called on the Nigerians both home and in Diaspora to put their differences aside and support a leader who will promote the needs of its citizenry irrespective of their social and economic backgrounds.
