The fortunes of PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, swelled in Delta State with the inauguration of the Atiku We Know, Atiku we Trust voluntary support group in Asaba, on Thursday, December 13, 2018.
Inaugurating the group, the National Director General of the group, Chief Jeff Imoh, lamented that Nigerians, under the present political dispensation, had never had it so bad as they were going through some of the most difficult times in the history of the country and the time had come for the people to take back their country and make it work again for them and secure the future of the next generation.
Imoh, who was accompanied to Delta State by the woman leader, Aisha Musa, youth leader Abubakar Usman and BoT member, Alhaji Sabo Inuwajada, among other top officers from Abuja and Lagos respectively, affirmed that the Atiku we know, Atiku we Trust support group, had over seven million members cut across 28 States in Nigeria, even as he pledged that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had the requisite experience and courage to create jobs for the youths, tackle insecurity and address all other challenges in the country, to get Nigeria working again, if given the presidential mandate by Nigerians in 2019.
In his welcome address, the newly sworn-in Delta State Coordinator of the group, Pastor Azuka Onyebo said that Atiku We Know, Atiku We Trust support group, with membership in the 25 LGAs of Delta state, was a voluntary group made up of concerned Deltans and non-indigenes resident in the state, whose objective is to help actualise the presidential ambition of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and the victory of other PDP candidates in the state, in the 2019 general elections.
Highpoint of the event was the swearing-in of the state Exco of the group by the national DG, which included Onyekachukwu Obi (Sec), Deputy Co-ordinators; Samuel Uwadinma, (North), Ovie Okpakpor (South), Frank A. Adibor (Central), Frank Oghor (Organizing Sec) and Beauty Oil Queen (Woman Leader, Delta Central).
Others were, Felicia Ochuko and Rev. John Achonwu (Treasurers), Chief Austin Atiti (Pub Sec, Delta Central), and Chief Godwin Okporoko (Youth Leader, Delta central).
Administering the oath of office and presentation of certificates to the new Exco, the DG, Chief Jeff Imoh assured that the other state Exco members as well as the Local Government Coordinators would sworn in and inaugurated very soon, assuring that the Delta State chapter of Atiku we know, Atiku we Trust support group already enjoys the backing and recognition of the national body and will be a key player in its operations, as the 2019 election campaigns unfold.
