The Dr. Charles Nwadiani Governorship Campaign team of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta state,has expressed reservation and rejection of the Chief Hycinth Enuha committee established to bring out a common governorship candidate that will be presented from the growing population of aspirants from the Anioma geo-political zone to the party.

A statement signed by Mr Sebastian Mordi, DDG mobilization for Dr Charles Nwadiani Governorship Campaign Team, puts the matter in perspective. It states:

“In the light of present events and circumstances which are unsatisfactory,
the Charles Nwadiani Governorship Team wishes to notify the All
Progressves Congress, especially it’s members from Delta North of the
following.

“1. That we are not against the efforts by leaders and members of the
party from the district, towards ensuring the emergence of a Delta
Northerner as governorship candidate of the APC for the 2019
gubernatorial elections.

“2. That, while we register our willingness to work with the zone to
achieve this goal, we humbly but unequivocally state our
dissatisfaction with the committee as constituted to liaise and work
towards achieving this aim.

“3. That we are convinced that the membership of the committee can’t
act transparently, by reason of it’s hasty constitution.

We believe that proper consultation of all relevant stakeholders was
not carried out before the committee was set up.

“4. That we believe that the committee as presently constituted can’t
act in the unbiased manner it ought to. Chief amongst this opinion is
the fact that majority of the members of this committee, already owe
allegiance, belong to or are sympathetic to the ambition of a
Governorship aspirant.

“5. Furthermore we would like to state here that the secretary of that
committee, the person of Dr Alex Onwadiamu was and still remains the
Director General of Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei’s campaign team. We also
have it on good authority that a higher ranking member of the
committee and a very respected leader from Delta North, has already
aligned with the earlier mentioned aspirant.

“To this end, we believe that the committee can’t carry out it’s
responsibilities without fear or favour as most already stand
compromised.

“We hereby wish to state that our Principal, Dr Charles Nwadiani will
not be attending the earlier scheduled interactive session, in light
of the above findings.

“We wish to reiterate our respect for the Leader of the party from
Delta North, however we humbly ask that moral and logical
considerations be made alongside necessary adjustments.

“We believe that the move to change the narratives in delta state by
our party the APC,  be done with as much transparency as possible.

“We urge that necessary steps be taken to correct perceived anomalies
as expressed in this press statement.”
