An international Conference for pastors has been scheduled to hold Friday in Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital city.
The conference which promises to host over 50 Bishops and 1, 000 Pastors will kick off on Friday, 2nd June 2023 at the Cathedral of the Christos International Worship Centre, Apo Area of Abuja.
The three-day conference, from 2nd to 4th of June, with the theme “BUILDING THE MAN BEHIND THE PULPIT, a Time of Refreshing For Ministers/Leaders” is part of the Christos yearly “God of June 11” celebrations, to commemorate when the Head Pastor and General Over-seer of Christos, Bishop David Nwachukwu Ogudu received his call from the Almighty into the ministry.
According to a statement from Rev. Esther Chibuikem, Head of Media for Christos International Worship Centre, Bishop Ogudu wants to use the conference to “reequip, refresh, rearm, rebuild the Pastors for the work they do”.
He said that “many people do not know that a Pastor’s life could be lonely despite the teeming crowd he shepherds, pointing out that many Pastors are struggling against different problems but find little empathy even from the persons close.
He said that many Pastors also experience burn-out because of the round the clock work they do and the burden they bear – without complain and with little or no time for relaxation. “Sometimes what could save a burnt-out pastor from a major health challenge such as a stroke or heart attack is just to know when and how to relax”.
Ogudu said: “Every person, including Pastors should be quick to know the state of their health by embracing the needed medical check ups and Christians must do all in their power to take advantage of the benefits of the tremendous progress mankind has made in medical science and general academic pursuit”.
The Rotary Club of Nigeria, Maitama District, will partner with Christos during this conference to provide different free vital tests such as sugar level and blood pressure checkups during the Conference.
In 2015 Bishop Ogwudu produced audio Bibles in 19 Nigerian languages; Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Efik, Ibibio, Gbagi, Gwari, Fulani, Igala, Idoma, Tiv, Bini, Ijaw, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Igbira, Ogoni, Okrika and Pidgin English, now the most downloaded Christian phone app in Nigeria.
Five main Ministers will drive the summit; Dr. David Anderson, Bishop Daniel Pinero, Bishop Angel Nunez, from USA and Nigeria’s Archbishop Sylvanus Ofili, and Ogudu himself. The American ministers as well as dozens of Nigerian Bishops and hundreds of Pastors from all over Nigeria arrived Abuja on Thursday.
