He thanked Engr. Fred Obe who contested against him for accepting the results. “Your boldness for contesting for the APC state chairmanship seat with me shows that you are a man with a big heart who I can work with. The congress which ought to have been held last Saturday was postponed till Monday, May 22, 2018 by the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party.
Chairman of the congress committee, Eugene Odoh, said Chief Ogodo who is the immediate Vice Chairman of the party, pulled a total of 731 votes to beat his only rival, Fred Obe who had 99 votes out of 1,439 votes, 10 of which were declared as void votes.

Emerhor said, “now that we are through with the election of new executives for the party, we will reach out to them to reconcile them into the unity train because we have the PDP to fight and if we don’t reconcile, it will be difficult to unseat the PDP in Delta state.”
On their part, former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Victor Ochei and Engr. Hyacinth Enuha described the congress as the best they have ever witnessed as politicians.
