Delta APC chairman, Jones Erhue stands expelled, says Patrick Ideh

For taking the All Progressives Congress (APC) to court, Prophet Jones Erhue, the Delta state chairman of the party stands expelled, according to Chief Patrick Ideh.
Chief Ideh, an elder statesman, one time member of the House of Representatives in the Shehu Shagari era (1979-1983), and now an APC chieftain, argued that it was wrong for Prophet Erhue to take the party to court arguing that suing the party to court was against the provision of Article 21(D) 5 of the constitution of the party which renders the culprit automatic expulsion from the party. “Thus, Prophet Erhue and his fellow travelers stand expelled and cannot be part of any structure of our party,” Ideh declared.
He recalled that Prophet Jones Erhue in suit no FHC/Wr/165/20 sued the party, its leadership and others at the Federa High Court, Warri over party related matters. The case comes up again in October 14th, 2017.
Decrying the comatose and parlous state of the APC in Delta State which he attributed to the ineffectiveness of the Jones Erhue executive, Chief Ideh accused some powerful forces inside the APC national body of colluding with some APC members in Delta state to frustrate the party’s unity and growth. “It is now time these faceless enemies of the party left us alone to grow and capture the state for our dear party,” he stated.
As a statutory executive member of the party in Delta, he said himself and others could save the crisis ridden Delta APC and successfully build it up with sincerity, in partnership with trusted party elders, leaders and the minister representing Delta State in the federal executive council.
Meanwhile, Chief Ideh has also called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to establish a Presidential Liaison Office in each state of the federation.
In a statement issued in Effurun, near Warri, the elder statesman stated that the PLO will oversee the activities of the Federal Government in the states as was the case under the Shehu Shagari government.
He pointed out that the APC federal government had been doing a lot of development projects in Delta state, but because most of these services were channeled through state agencies, the benefits were played down, explaining that during the Shagari era between 1979/84, the Presidential Liaison Officers guaranteed the image of the Federal Government in the states.
