Delta Govt gives tourism, hospitality operators final deadline to renew registration

The Delta State Government has issued a final warning to all tourism and hospitality businesses to update their registration status and clear outstanding renewal fees for the 2025 operational year.

In a public notice issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Commissioner Dr. Darlington Nnamdi Ijeh directed that all establishments—including hotels, motels, guest houses, restaurants, fast-food outlets, tour companies, travel agencies, amusement parks, gardens, lounges, and nightclubs—must comply with the mandatory registration and renewal requirements of the state.

The ministry warned that defaulters will face strict enforcement actions, including the possible sealing of premises, as provided for under existing state laws and regulatory guidelines.

Dr. Ijeh appealed for full cooperation from stakeholders, stressing that the reminder serves as a formal notice to all operators to update their records with the Delta State Tourism Board without delay.

According to the ministry, the renewed compliance push is part of the state government’s effort to strengthen regulation, sanitize the industry, and ensure that businesses in the tourism and hospitality ecosystem operate strictly within the law.

Operators have been advised to visit the Tourism Board immediately to complete their registration and renewal processes to avoid sanctions.
