The Delta State Bureau of Local Government Pensions has announced plans to embark on a comprehensive enlightenment and sensitisation tour across the 25 local government areas of the state, aimed at engaging key stakeholders in the Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme.
Chairman of the Bureau, Mr. Ben Igho, said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to deepen understanding of recent reforms and developments in the pension scheme and to ensure more efficient and effective service delivery.
According to him, the sensitisation team will include officials from relevant state government agencies, representatives of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), and Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs), among others.
The stakeholders to be engaged during the tour include local government chairmen, principal officers and staff of council secretariats, education secretaries, management and staff of Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs), as well as members of the Association of Contributory Retirees.
The enlightenment tour is scheduled to kick off in Warri North Local Government Area on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 before moving to Ethiope West and Sapele within the first week. The full itinerary has already been communicated to all councils and LGEAs across the state.
