Delta LG POLLS – Hunkamma Odigwe: An embodiment of leadership traits

Delta LG POLLS – Hunkamma Odigwe: An embodiment of leadership traits

By Olomu Onyiye.

Names. There must definitely be something about them especially those that bear their roots in notable or peculiar occurrences at one’s birth.

Perhaps, it was the uniqueness of his birth and the future they foresaw that informed his parents to name him: Hunkamma; a name which simply connotes that ‘this one, is best.’

Hon. Monday Hunkamma Odigwe is actually not your regular type of politician and by this, I mean that he’s far separated from those spotted and branded politicians whose trademark or stock-in-trade is to use the facade or cover of politics to perpetuate their unbridled hubris/greed to subject the populace to life-sapping master-servant ordeals rather than they subscribing to the mantra of ‘Servants of the Masses’ which they mouth about majorly during elections.

Hon. Odigwe is self-effacing and humble. He’s amiable and approachable. He listens more than he talks.

In fact, his sense and spirit of teamness and sociableness are so keen and sterling that it may actually be easy to mistake him in the midst of others.

But behind that mien of gentleness resides a reservoir of capabilities and experiences which his humble background, his enduring quest for success, his rich academic attainments and eventful forays into the security forces (Police Force) and Ivory Towers (as a Lecturer) have afforded him.

This is therefore my take:

Even as the good people and voters of Ika North-East observe him going round for campaigns in all the wards making up the LGA, alongside the well-composed and seasoned PDP Campaign Council in the LGA, one thing I can humbly but confidently assure them is that their worthy son called Hon. Monday Hunkamma Odigwe, has come to take governance in Ika North-East to enviable heights of unprecedented development and coexistence among the people.
