Obior community, home of the former Deputy Governor of Delta State, was agog on Monday, 24th June, 2024 with beats and sounds as the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Aniocha North flagged off the Local Government election campaigns in area.
It was a huge gathering of sorts as leaders of the party ranging from the former Deputy Governor, Chief B.S.C Elue, Chairman of Campaign Council and Majority Leader of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, DG Campaign Council, Hon. Jaunty Okwudi, the chairmanship candidate, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye, Vice Chairmanship candidate, Lady Nneka Dibia, Honourable Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer of the State, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, Chairman of LGA PDP, Dr. Charles Ochei, Deputy DG of Campaign Council, Deacon Chux Nwaebuni, and a host of other leaders led members of the party to seek votes from Obior people.
In his speech and prayer, Chief Elue affirmed that Obior and the entire Aniocha North would take the lead to deliver massively for the PDP.
He said Emma Chinye would take the lead in the forthcoming elections having done the needful as a grassroots mobiliser with an understanding of local contents and peculiarities. He then prayed for him and others to excel in their endeavours in order to bring the dividends of democracy to the people.
Chairman of Aniocha North Campaign Council, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi eulogized the PDP Candidate, Emma Chinye, describing him as the man fit and proper to take Aniocha North to the next positive level.
He said that campaigning in Obior was just to fulfill all righteousness, otherwise Emma Chinye has cruised to victory already as a grassroots delight.
The Campaign Council’s DG, Hon. Jaunty Okwudi also affirmed that Emma Chinye would change the narrative in Aniocha North leadership as the man roundly known for his local acceptance.
At the end of the campaign, the PDP flag was handed over to Emma Chinye as the candidate of the party by the PDP chairman in Aniocha North, Dr. Charles Ochei.
Responding to the gesture, Emma Chinye posited that he is a candidate for all Aniocha North people and would never be subservient to any single individual.
He affirmed that he has come with light and would definitely light up the local government with development in a way that all would benefit massively.
Hon. Chinye assured that he would in the immediate tackle the renovation of primary health centres, maternity and cottage hospitals, grade farm roads to enable farmers access into their farms, give non refundable grants to market women and respond to other sundry developmental needs of the people and communities of Aniocha North.
