Delta Police nab two over murder of teenage girl in Abraka, 52-yr-old-man for alleged defilement

Two suspects are now in Police net in Asaba over the murder of an 18 years old teenage girl whose lifeless body was found concealed in a sack in a heap of dust bin in Abraka, Delta state.
The Delta State Police Command in a statement signed its Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya stated that on inspection of the body by the Police marks of violence were obvious on the deceased’s neck, which implied that she could have been killed by unknown person or persons.
The statement stated: “Subsequently, in the course of Police investigation, the deceased’s male friend one Henry Ikechukwu, aged 32 years, who was last seen with the deceased on 17th of June, 2019 and had been on the run since the incident, was tracked down and arrested on 28th of June, 2019.
“On interrogation, he confessed to have invited the deceased for an outing on 17th of June, 2019, from where he lured her and handed her over to a prominent chief in the same Abraka community, who gave him the assignment to get the deceased for him.
“The said chief has also been arrested and the two suspects are presently in Police custody pending investigation. They will soon appear in court immediately after the completion of the ongoing Police investigation.”
Meanwhile, the PPRO also announced the arrest of a 52- year –old man for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl in Eku on June 9, 2019.
DSP Onovwakpoyeya stated: “Similarly, on the 27/6/2019, at Ovwian Aladja Warri, another innocent two-years-old-baby girl was defiled by a 52yrs old man.
The two suspects were arrested and presently in Police custody. They will soon be charged to court at the completion of investigation, most likely on Monday 01/07/201.
“Meanwhile, it is disturbing that two cases of defilement of minors were recorded within the space of three weeks.
“Therefore, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Adeyinka Adeleke hereby wishes to use this medium to advice parents to keep close watch on their under-aged female children to avoid them falling victim.”
