Asaba — In a bold move to reposition Delta’s business landscape, the state government has announced the maiden edition of the Delta State MSME Summit 2025, slated for December 3–5 in Asaba.
Organised by the Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (DEMSMEDA), the summit carries a deliberately ambitious theme: “Advancing Delta MSME: From Vision to MORE Value.”
And its ambition is clear: to energise the MSME ecosystem, spotlight new opportunities, and confront the barriers holding back small businesses across the state.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will officially open the summit, while Africa’s leading entrepreneur and chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony Elumelu, CFR, is billed to chair the event — a move that underscores the state’s determination to attract heavyweight insights into its economic revival agenda.
DEMSMEDA Executive Secretary/CEO, Dr. Godwin Adolor, who issued the announcement, described the summit as “a strategic turning point” in the Oborevwori administration’s drive to expand economic opportunities and strengthen the backbone of the state’s economy, its MSMEs.
According to him, participants are expected to register online as attendees, exhibitors, or innovators pitching new business ideas. Registration is accessible via the agency’s official website.
The summit will take place at the Mariam Babangida Leisure Park on Anwai Road, Asaba, kicking off at 10:00 a.m. daily.
Dr. Adolor said the three-day forum will feature high-level engagements, practical knowledge-sharing sessions, and strategic networking opportunities aimed at boosting the visibility, competitiveness, and investment readiness of Delta-based MSMEs. He added that key dignitaries have been invited to deliver goodwill messages and lend support to the state’s enterprise development goals.
DEMSMEDA urged entrepreneurs and stakeholders across the state to seize the opportunity by completing their registration on the agency’s website.
