Ahead of the kickoff of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season this weekend, the Delta State Sports Commission has officially unveiled the Delta Queens squad, signaling readiness for another year of top-tier women’s football.
During the presentation ceremony held in Asaba, the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori, expressed strong confidence in the team’s preparedness and reiterated the state government’s unwavering support for the club. He assured that the administration would continue to provide the resources and encouragement needed for a successful season.
Mr. Oborevwori praised Delta Queens as a beacon of excellence in women’s football, describing the team as a “symbol of pride, resilience, and excellence” whose exploits continue to motivate aspiring young female players across the state.
With the new NWFL season set to commence on November 26, 2025, Delta Queens will open their campaign with a high-stakes away clash against Nasarawa Amazons — a fixture expected to set the tone for a fiercely competitive season ahead.
