DSCTDA begins cleanup of Koka Bridge to restore sanity in Asaba

The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has launched a cleanup operation at Koka Bridge in Asaba as part of its ongoing commitment to environmental maintenance in the state capital.

The exercise, which commenced on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, is being carried out by the Agency’s Environment Unit. Activities include the removal of indiscriminately dumped waste, fecal matter, and sand deposits within the bridge axis.

Mr Isaac Nwosu, Head of the Environment Unit, is leading the operation to ensure the effective removal of environmental nuisances and the restoration of order in the area.

Speaking on the initiative, the Director-General of the DSCTDA, Mr Patrick Ukah, described the exercise as a core component of the Agency’s mandate to preserve a clean, orderly, and environmentally friendly capital territory.

According to Mr Ukah, the cleanup will continue on Thursday with the evacuation of sand from the location. He called on residents and road users to support the Agency’s efforts by avoiding indiscriminate waste dumping and adopting proper sanitation habits.

The operation underscores the DSCTDA’s dedication to fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for residents of the Delta State capital.
