As cleaning up and beautification of Asaba Capital Territory continues, the Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Hon. Joan Onyemaechi-Ada Anioma, has assured of the commitment of the agency to continue to enhance the environmental sustainability of the capital city.
Onyemaechi gave the assurance when the staff of the agency, led by the head of beautification, Mrs Ngozi Ojeah, embarked on reinspection and sensitisation of the public at the Ogbogonogo Market in Asaba.
While inspecting the market, she stressed that owners and occupiers of the premises should not allow refuse to litter within 20 metres of their premises, adding that they should evacuate the resultant refuse and bag same for appropriate disposal at approved dump sites.
She said the essence of keeping the state clean was to have a beautiful and clean environment, thus making it safe and habitable, adding that the traders should stop burning waste to avoid health and environmental hazards.
speaking during the sensitisation , Mrs Ojeah urged the traders to always be conscious of their environment, keep it clean and avoid dumping waste indiscriminately.
She disclosed that the agency would continue to monitor areas earlier supervised for effective implementation of the clean up exercise.
