The Delta State House of Assembly, Thursday, June 17th, 2021 at plenary, screened and confirmed for appointment as the State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Theresa Obiajulu Ogochukwu Diai and Hon. Justice Patience Onuwa Elumeze, as State President Customary Court of Appeal. Also screened and confirmed for appointment was the Chairman of the Delta State Bureau for Pension.

Moving the motions for their confirmation was the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Kenneth Preyor, member representing Bomadi State constituency and was seconded by Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, member representing Aniocha North constituency for the State Chief Judge.

On the other hand, Hon. Austin Chika Chikezie, member representing Aniocha South State constituency moved the motion for the State President Customary Court of Appeal, while Hon. Anthony Emeka Elekeokwuri, member representing Ika North East State constituency, seconded the motions for confirmation of the Chairman of the Delta State Bureau for Pensions, Mr Cyril Agbele.

In a related development, the state lawmakers have also screened and confirmed 15 local government secretaries out of the 17 that appeared before the house. Two of them from Isoko North and Ndokwa West were stepped down.

Delta State House of Assembly has also received a list of 18 commissioners-nominees from Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State.

Among the nominees were the immediate past Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, others include; Dr. Bare Gbe, Hon. Julius Egbedi, Mr. Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, Mrs. Flora Alatan, Chief Festus Ochonogor, Chief Arthur Akpowowo, and M. Jonathan Ukodhike.

Others were Hon. Evelyn O. Oboro, Engr. Noel Omodon, Mr. Churchill Amagada ,Mrs. Rose Ezewu, Chief Fidelis Tilije, Engr. Lawrence Ejiofor, Princess Shola Ogbemi-Daibo, Mr. Chris Onogba, Barr. Kate Onianwa, and Mr. Johnbull Edema.

They are required to submit 35 copies of their CV to the Office of the Clerk of the Delta State House of Assembly on or before Monday, 21st June, 2021 and appear for screening on Tuesday, 22nd June, 2021.
