The Delta State Government (DTSG) has officially, raised the tally of civil commissioners in the State to 29 following the appointment, screening and confirmation of three new ones.
The additional three included Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza (Commissioner for Information), Ekemejero Ohwovoriole (Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice) and Kalanama Penawou (Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs), were duly screened and confirmed for the appointment by the State legislature
It would be recalled that the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori had earlier forwarded the names of the trio to the State House of Assembly for screening and possible confirmation.
At Tuesdays plenary presided over by the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, the lawmakers, in exercise of their legislative responsibilities, screened the trio who were later, confirmed for the respective appointments and portfolios.
Given their distinguished roles in the State, the nominees were given the rare privilege of taking a bow and go.
However, motions for their individual confirmation were moved by the Majority Leader of the State Assembly, Hon Emeka Nwaobi as they were unanimously adopted by the lawmakers following voice votes called by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.
While thanking members for their diligence and legislative ingenuity in the screening and subsequent confirmation of the trio commissioners, the Speaker enjoined them to discharge their duties creditably in line with the M.O.R.E agenda of Governor Oborevwori.
