Forum of Delta State NGOs commend Oborevwori for sustainable projects; tasks contractors to deliver quality jobs

The Forum of Delta State NGOs has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for delivering sustainable projects and programmes across Delta State as escapulated in the MORE Agenda which is in consonance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

In a press statement released in Asaba by Deacon Okezi Odugala, (Coordinator) and Engr Antonnet Udoka (Acting Secretary) the Forum commended the Governor for advancing sustainable development in Delta State by executing critical infrastructural projects across the state and completing projects of the past administration.

“We commend the Governor’s visible stand against shoddy jobs by contractors as we will partner with the government to monitor and expose all shoddy projects by any contractor in Delta State as it is No More Business As Usual.

“We are using this medium to call on all contractors to go back to site as we are compiling all abandoned or uncompleted government projects across the state to engage with the government from local to federal toward ensuring that there is no uncompleted projects in Delta State.

“We call on those contractors to kindly go back to site or furnish us with their challenges to enable engagements for remediation.

“We want to use this medium to appeal to Deltans and residents to partner with the state government to deliver fully on their social contract and advise politicians not to distract the present government with blackmail, campaign of calumny and tribal bigotry inorder to secure political relevance.
It is the duty of all citizens to partner for good governance and to criticize constructively while proffering workable solutions.

“In conclusion, we want to request the Governor to prioritize sustainable energy systems across the state in partnership with oil companies utilizing flared gas across the state to save our environment from pollution and drive our industrial, eco-tourism, agriculturae and digital revolution needed for the sustainable development of Delta State,” the Forum declared.
