The Senior Political Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon has commended the Chairman of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Service, DBIRS, Sir Monday Onyeme for commiserating with him over the demise of his wife, Mrs Edith Adi Solomon.
Solomon made the commendation when Sir Onyeme paid him a condolence visit at his home in Asaba the Delta State capital.
The adviser said that though it was a particularly difficult time, he however affirmed his conviction that “sorrow may last for the night but joy definitely comes in the morning.”
He commended Sir Onyeme for coming to condole with him pointing out that the visit would invigorate him at this moment of his grief.
Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon however promised to keep Sir Onyeme posted on the burial plans for his late wife.
Speaking at the occasion, Onyeme, described the death of Mrs Edith Adi Solomon as a great loss and urged the Senior Political Adviser to take solace in the fact that God knew why He called her.
“We are here to tell you that we share in your grief, the death of your wife, no doubt is a great loss, but you have to take solace in the fact that her creator, God Almighty knew why He called her.
“We will continue to pray for the repose of her soul and please, know that we will always be there for you,” he said.
Sir Onyeme was accompanied on the visit by the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ndokwa West Chapter, Chief Lucky Okwuji; Chairman, Ndokwa West Local Government Council, Hon. Ifeanyi Osakwe; the Senior Special Assistant, Political, to the Governor of Delta State, Chief Kennedy Igba and the Special Assistant, Media to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo.
