Please Sir, can you introduce yourself?
My name is Egboh Blessed Tuesday, JP, a Chieftain of the Labour Party and committed Obidient.
How is your political party, the Labour Party doing at the moment?
Labour Party is doing well by God’s grace. We have remained resilient, focused and committed to our party’s goal, which is to help build a better Nigeria that every Nigerian will be very proud of.
You are also a member of the Obidients Movement. What’s the difference between Obidients and Labour Party members?
I’m a also a member of the Obidients Movement, both at the state and national levels. By God’s grace I’m the Director of Mobilization of Obidients Movement in Delta State. Obidients Movement is Obidients Movement, it has nothing to do with Labour Party, also, it has nothing to do with any political party in Nigeria. Obidients Movement is a pressure group strictly for Peter Obi and Peter Obi alone. Obidients Movement is more than any political party in Nigeria. Every Nigerian both at home and abroad who wants the growth of the country is embraced. The Movement is doing great and will continue to work towards actualizing a better Nigeria. No Obi no Obidients Movement, no Obidients Movement no Obi.
Your Principal and candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Mr Peter Obi is now a member of African Democratic Congress, ADC where he wishes to actualize his 2027 ambition as the next president of Nigeria. Are you not going to join Obi in ADC?
Peter Obi is in ADC now, there is no doubt about it. That was his choice . It’s our collective prayers that he achieves his presidential ambition in 2027 on the ADC platform. However, whether ADC or Labour Party, we are very confident that Obi will achieve his ambition to govern Nigeria in 2027. I wish he actualizes this lofty ambition through ADC by God’s grace.
Do you think Mr Peter Obi has the chance to clinch the ADC presidential ticket?
This question you asked me was the same question that was asked in our recent meeting in Abuja. The question was directed to Peter Obi. He answered the question by saying that there’s no one among us that is sure of sleeping and waking up tomorrow. So, if there’s anyone who is not sure of sleeping and waking up tomorrow, the same way he is not boastful of getting the ADC presidential ticket but, he is sure that he will clinch the ticket at the end of the party’s presidential primary election because in as much as no one is sure of sleeping and waking up the next day, no one wishes to sleep and will not wake up the following day. He said that he is one hundred percent sure of getting the ADC presidential ticket. The Obidients are positioned in every unit in Nigeria. In all, Obi will be in the ballot in 2027 irrespective of political party affiliation.
Again, former minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed has said that with 10million votes in 2023, Obi would not have won the presidential election. What’s your take on this statement?
Lai Mohammed is known by his name in Nigeria.Obi scored more than ten million votes in the 2023 presidential election, unfortunately, those votes were suppressed by INEC. Many Nigerians knew that Obi won the presidential election in 2023. I can categorically tell you that Obi cleared almost all the states in Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory. It’s hard to mention any state in Nigeria where Obi did not win in 2023. Therefore, I’m using this medium to declare to you that Obi’s votes in this forthcoming 2027 presidential election will be higher than that of 2023.
You are the Convener, Better Nigeria group. In what areas is your group working towards the country’s growth and development?
By God’s grace I’m the Convener of Better Nigeria Movement. It’s a global movement. We have Coordinators in different states in Nigeria, even the FCT was not left out. Our aim is to work towards a better Nigeria, a country where everyone will enjoy good governance and equal rights. We are also into humanitarian activities though we don’t advertise it. We stand for justice, truth and development. Part of our goals is to help build a Nigeria which every Nigerian will be very proud of.
Is 2027 going to be Mr Obi’s turn at the poll? If yes give your reasons?
2027 presidential election is no man’s turn because no one is God. However, with the level of support Obi has in Nigeria, God will make 2027 his turn. He is the best candidate and he stands the highest chance. He did excellently well when he was the governor of Anambra State, so, he will do better if voted into office as Nigeria’s next president.
Finally, what message do you have for Nigerians?
Nigerians should double their supports for Peter Obi and ensure that he becomes Nigeria’s next president in 2027. If we all desire a better Nigeria that we can be very proud of, then we should throw our weights behind Peter Obi as he vies for our country’s number one political office in 2027.
